A photographer and a writer together
with the painters at Lomea

Interesting trips and precious movies awaits the participants and guests

10 authors are invited to take part in this-year, ninth in a row edition of the Lomea for modern art. Together with the painters in the Nature Park of Rusenski Lom will work the photographer Alexander Ivanov and Irina Batkova, writer and painter, as well as the young Miroslava Sevchik from Slovakia. The rest are: Professor Bozhidar Bonchev, Nadezhda Kirilova, Penka Mincheva, Vasilka Moneva, Verginia Pencheva, Nina Ivanova and the curator is Dimitar Grozdanov.
This time the motto of the forum is „Potnia Theron” – ancient name of a Minoan goddess, worshipped as Mistress of animals. „Potnia” is a Mycenaean word, inherited by the classic Greeks. „This choice has been prompted by the idea that Lomea symposium embraces a wide range of meanings and symbols, which are up-dated by the painters and artists. It can be said that the focus on the ancient Potnia Theron is an aspiration for seeking ideal, which nowadays is spread out but aims personification. One of the ways for such a personification to be achieved, is by the means of art, which is stimulated by the Lomea symposium ", Dimitar Grozdanov shared.
The symposium starts on the 25th of August. The artists will be accommodated in the Black Stork Complex in Nisovo. The programme includes trips to the Ivanovo rock churches and Cherven, to the village of Tserovets, where the guests will be awaited by a complex of revival period style houses, a 100-year old and renewed church and Tserova grove.
Participants and guest will have the chance to see two very precious movies, dedicated to the Rusenski Lom Nature Park - „Lomovete” of 1970 and „In the Shade of the Centuries”, 1957.
Traditionally the forum will end by two consecutive exhibitions – in the open, in the valley of Lom Rivers around Nisovo and in the Ruse Art gallery.
